Nika Kutateladze _ To Protect My House while I’m away

This work is a replica of an abandoned house in Guria region, filled with thorn brush aimed at protecting the house from burglars and animals.

Nika Kutateladze (b. 1989) has a BA in architecture from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. He completed his studies at the Center of Contemporary Art, Tbilisi (CCAT). He has been in residencies at La Station in Nice, France in 2015 and the Yarat Contemporary Art Center in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2017.

Kutateladze’s solo exhibitions include: Wall, Coarse Calico, Parquet, organized by Iare Pekhit in 2016; Minibus and Playground in My Old Apartment at 20 Mickevich Street in 2017; Watermill in Former Pavlov Street, organized by Kunsthale Tbilisi in 2018. His work has also been shown in group exhibitions, including Festinova Garikula 2014-2015.

In 2018 Kutateladze won the first prize of Tsinandali Award in visual arts section.

The work was realized in the frames of Tbilisi Architecture Biennial.
