Author Biography:
Soso Dumbadze, is currently living and working in Berlin, Germany and Tbilisi, Georgia.
Soso Dumbadze studied film and Media Arts at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, graduating in 2011. Besides his film works Soso Dumbadze produces film- and video installations for museum and gallery spaces. Amongst others at Art Cologne, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, Haus am Lützowplatz, Berlin. His video installation “Parallels on a War” was purchased for the Cologne Collection by the curator Barbara Engelbach from “Ludwig Museum”. An magazine “Frieze” wrote an article about Soso’s video installation “A Yellow Bus” (2017). His is current film “Sunny Night” (2017), realized in collaboration with German documentary filmmaker Lea Hartlaub, premiered at the Dok-Leipzig film festival. In 2006, he founded “Sa.Ga”, a Publishing company in Georgia (»Sazogadoebrivi Gamomzemloba«, short for »Publishing for Society«). Up to now Soso has published 15 books including essays of following authors: Walter Benjamin and Theodor W. Adorno, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Abbas Kiarostami, Sergej Eisenstein and Dziga Vertov, from Contemporary Art – Harun Farocki, Chris Marker and others.
